Adults about 12-14 mm long. Green except for the dark membranous tips of the forewings, but changes colour to brown in winter in temperate area.

Feeds on various plants and sucks the juices of fruits. This and other Shield Bugs are also known as Stink-bugs, because they produce an irritant, smelly defensive secretion from glands in the thorax when disturbed or handled.

Danaus chrysippus belongs to the subfamily Danainae, which includes the Monarchs & Tigers, Nymphs and Crows, comprises of about 190 species worldwide.

Monarchs and Tigers belong to the genus Danaus. They are large butterflies, characterised by their orange wings, which have a black apex, and white subapical spots. All butterflies in this subfamily are thought to be toxic or distasteful to avian predators.

Danaus chrysippus is found across the entire African continent, throughout most of Asia south of the Himalayas, on most of the islands of the south Pacific, and across much of Australia.

The Common Tiger [Danaus genutia] is also called Striped Tiger in India to differentiate it from the equally common Plain Tiger [Danaus chrysippus].

The butterfly closely resembles the Monarch butterfly [Danaus plexippus] of the Americas. The wingspan is 75 to 95 mm. Danaus genutia is distributed throughout India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and extending to South East Asia and Australia.

The Pale Grass Blue is a member of the Lycaenidae butterfly family of small usually brilliantly colored butterflies. The Lycaenidae are the second-largest family of butterflies, with about 6000 species worldwide.

A small, under 5 cm usually, and brightly coloured, sometimes with a metallic gloss. The Pale Grass Blue can be found in grassy areas where it flutters near to the ground and amongst low-growing flowering plants.

This is a skipper or skipper butterfly of the family Hesperiidae. They are named after their quick, darting flight habits. Skippers found in Singapore are generally drab coloured; dark brown, orange with spots and indistinct markings on their wings. Many are small sized and often fly close to the ground.

Euploea camaralzeman malayica: Malayan Crow butterfly

Euploea is a genus of milkweed butterflies. The species are generally dark in coloration, often quite blackish, for which reason they are commonly called crows. They are poisonous due to feeding on milkweeds and other toxic plants as caterpillars.
