Exacum affine: Bittersweet, Persian violet

Exacum affine, is a nice spherical plant comes from a rough area. It originally grows on the Socotra Island nearby the Horn of Africa. This group of islands belongs to Jemen.

These islands are famous for their fragile balance between plants, animals and humans. Some call them the Indian Ocean’s Galapagós. The Exacum was discovered there and then brought to Europe. Danish growers have refined the small plant until it reached the size it has today.
