Ponerorchis graminifolia Orchid

Ponerorchis is a small genus of Asian terrestrial tuberous orchids. They can be found in evergreen forests and meadows in temperate, mountainous regions from the Himalayas to Siberia and Japan.

Ponerorchis graminifolia is a very variable species with grass-like leaves up to 14 cm long and less than a cm wide. Most of the specimens have a flower with a white or pale purple background and purple/blue accents, with varying degrees of contrast; a few dozen small [1/2” tall and 1/4” wide] flowers on the inflorescence.
