Hypolimnas anomala anomala: Malayan Eggfly


^ Subspecies: Hypolimnas anomala anomala [southern Thailand, Peninsular Malaya, Singapore, Sumatra, Java, Borneo, Palawan, Philippines, Bali, Lombok, Enggano, Bawean]

Hypolimnas anomala anomala or Malayan Eggfly is common in Singapore. Its a large butterfly with 75mm wingspan. On cloudy days or by night, the adult butterfly rest by hanging upside down from leaves or twigs.

This caterpillar is still growing but at the later stage of its phase of life before turning into a pupa.
