Mussaenda erythrophylla [M. coccinea]: Red Velvet Mussaenda


Mussaenda erythrophylla also known as Red double Mussaenda, Ashanti Blood Plant, Red Flag Bush, Tropical Dogwood, Prophet’s Tears and Virgin Tree.


Cream-yellow star-like blooms stand boldly against the ruffled red velvet-like bracts. Blooms up to 7″ across. Unusual looking. Can be grown as a scrambling climber but is more commonly grown as a tropical shrub.
