Junonia hedonia ida: Chocolate Pansy

The Chocolate Pansy is a butterfly found in Asia. It is about 5–6 cm [2.0–2.4 in] in wingspan. Individuals maintain a territory and are usually found close to the ground level and often bask in the sun.

They are among the butterfly species more likely to be attacked by a reptile whilst it is sunbathing on a low bush. These photos showing asymmetrical bite marks of the wings.
